		<description>"Geographies of Trash" projects five situated yet generic architectural strategies of trash-formations in the territorial grid. The five projects – CAP, COLLECT, CONTAIN, PRESERVE, and FORM – materialize alternative imaginaries of trash systems to engage issues of monumentalism, value, scales of management, social relations, ecology, and geography.

		<description>The concept explores multi-level industrial facilities with in an urban mixed use building. The program includes (6,000m2) commercial, (70,000 m2) industrial, (10,000 m2) urban farming and (55,000m2) residential spaces. The functional requirements of the industrial facilities include light industrial processing, warehouse and distribution activities. As industries are moving away from the city residents are loosing employment opportunities and the city is not receiving the income it needs to support vital services like education and redevelopment.

The structural requirement of a multi-level industrial/residential facility includes poured in place reinforced concrete construction with loading capacities of up to 250 psf. The ceiling heights vary with use. The industrial facilities are leased by square meters allowing for there to be multiple tenants on each floor.
&#60;img src="http://payload49.cargocollective.com/1/2/69765/3295843/factory perspective4_700.jpg" width="700" height="250" width_o="2048" height_o="731" src_o="http://payload49.cargocollective.com/1/2/69765/3295843/factory perspective4_o.jpg" data-mid="28359380"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
The residential towers core and structure are designed with industrial elevators that attach to the loading docks on the first floor to support independent work of the residents and the micro factory spaces for tenants with less space and load requirements. There are 580 apartments of 5 different types. Re introducing industrial space to cities is a political, economical and social experiment that can have key benefits that support a healthy city.

		<description>Ogee was a group research project about using thin gauge plastic and creasing it in order to create a unit that could be manipulated and aggregated to create a surface structure.

&#60;img src="http://payload34.cargocollective.com/1/2/69765/2986423/IMG_0112.JPG" width="670" height="446" width_o="1600" height_o="1067" src_o="http://payload34.cargocollective.com/1/2/69765/2986423/IMG_0112_o.JPG" data-mid="18198532"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
This particular project used curved creases to generate the "beams". Each beam was constructed with 5 sides, the fifth being folded over the first to allow the beam to be riveted close.

&#60;img src="http://payload34.cargocollective.com/1/2/69765/2986423/IMG_0038.JPG" width="670" height="446" width_o="1600" height_o="1067" src_o="http://payload34.cargocollective.com/1/2/69765/2986423/IMG_0038_o.JPG" data-mid="18198547"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
 The curved beams are cut out of a single piece of plastic and to generate all of the curves off of a straight median line. This provided a high material efficiency, up to 86%.

		<description>The objective of the installation was to maximize the space that it would occupy with the least amount of material and to investigate the scale that could be cut using a 18”x32” laser cutter.

The final surface was run through a Grasshopper script to generate horizontal and vertical ribs. The two sets of ribs were half-lapped together.

Each rib was broken down into sections that could be laser cut using an 18”x32” bed and then glued together.
